The Portes du Soleil is the largest interlinked ski area in the world
Châtel offers world class skiing from a charming Savoyard village setting. However it is also part of the massive Portes du Soleil ski domain - the largest international linked ski area in the world with over 650 km of pistes in both France and Switzerland, and it has a superb snow record, which ensures there is great skiing for everyone.
Super-Châtel is ideal for beginners and intermediates, with its lovely sweeping runs through the trees, zig-zagging in and out of Switzerland. The skiing from Pre la Joux is a bit more challenging with some long cruising reds for intermediates and some bumpy blacks and off piste for more advanced skiers.
Whenever or wherever you want to ski your complimentary ski guide will chauffer you to the lifts in one of our luxury vehicles so you will not have to trudge about in all your ski gear.
Accompanied Skiing
The Portes du Soleil is liberty skiing ; discovery skiing that takes you travelling through two countries.
France in the morning, Switzerland in the afternoon ...take your pick, and Paddy will be happy to ski with you, showing you the resorts, the best runs and mountain restaurants.
Your complimentary ski guide will also provide the following service to ensure you have a truly stress free holiday.
- Heat your boots every morning
- Take your poles and skis in and out of the mini-bus each day
- Drive you to and from your chosen lift station - so no trudging around in boots and carrying skis
- Ski with you 3 days a week
- Take you for après ski
Lift Passes & Ski Hire
At Chalet Blanc we aim to make your holiday as easy as possible, which is why we will pre order all your lift passes and ski hire so you do not have to queue up on the first morning when you are desperate to get on the slopes.
Once you have booked we will talk through your requirements with you, so your ski passes will be waiting at the chalet on your arrival. There are two types of passes - We'd recommend intermediate and advanced skiers buy the Portes du Soleil pass. Beginners might want to stick with the lower priced Châtel pass.
We will then take you to the hire shop where your equipment has been arranged and will be waiting for you. This process also ensures you get the highest quality equipment and a designated assistant will be standing by to help your group, so there is no waiting around.
Ski School
We work with the best private instructors in resort for both ski and snowboard tuition. Whether you’re a beginner looking to grasp the basics or at a more advanced level we believe that private instruction is often the best way to improve your skills and get the most out of your skiing.
For group or children’s lessons we are happy to be working with the British Ski School who offer unrivalled teaching with all English instructors and small group sizes of 6 or 8.
